    Location:Science Building, Room 119

    A discussion on music, poetry, and philosophy will be held at 2 p.m. in the Science Building, Room 119. The event will include the presentation of excerpts from the opera “Tristan and Isolde.” The speakers are Vishwa Adluri, who will present opening remarks on the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche and the composer Richard Wagner; Yunus Tuncel, president of the New York City Nietzsche Circle, on”The Rise and Fall of ‘Tristan and Isolde’”; David Cerequas on “Nietzsche and the Wonderful Significance of Musical Dissonance: Eine haessliche und disharmonische Lust”; and conductor Russell Ger on “Wagner and Nietzsche on the Operatic Masterpiece ‘Tristan and Isolde’.”
