Enrollment Process

Current Students

Currently enrolled or recently taken classes at NJCU. Students can take advantage of the early enrollment period for continuing students, which is in October for Spring/Winter Registration and March for Summer/Fall Registration. Students will schedule an appointment with the major Academic Advisor prior to enrollment period for advisement and assistance with registration.

New Students

New to NJCU?  As a new student, after receiving your acceptance letter from the Office of Admissions, you will be sent an email to make an appointment with the Testing Center to take your Placement Exams. After taking your placement exams, you will with your major Academic Advisor for academic advising and registration. Find out how to be part of our Gothic Knight family!

Returning Students

Previously taken classes at NJCU, but it has been several semesters since you last attended. Students need to reach out to the Admission Office and reapply as a Readmit student. Once you are accepted; you will be invited to register for classes once open enrollment begins and you are strongly advised to meet with your academic advisor to review your program of study.

Transfer Students

Taken classes at another college or university. Students need to apply to NJCU and submit their official transcripts from all previous schools. The Transfer Resource Center will review all official transcripts and send a Transfer Credit Evaluation via email. Transfer students are encouraged to make an appointment with their major Academic Advisor in the University Advisement Center for academic advisement and assistance with registration.

International Students

Live outside the United States or have citizenship other than United States of America. For International Students at NJCU, please contact our International Students Office to review the application process and all documentation that you will need for acceptance. Once you have been accepted, please schedule a meeting with the International Student Advisor for advisement and registration.

Military/Veteran Students

Served in the military or are currently serving and wish to enroll? NJCU has additional benefits available to you and service to our military student is provided through the Office of Military and Veteran’s Services. Students will apply through Office of Admissions and identify themselves as a Military/Veteran student. Once accepted, Military/Veteran students will make an appointment with the Testing Center to take Placement Exams, if needed.  Students are encouraged to make an appointment to with the Director of the Office of Military and Veteran’s Services to activate or transfer your benefits. Students will see the major Academic Advisor in the University Advisement Center for academic advisement and assistance with registration.
