Print
  • Completion of this major prepares the student to assume the responsibilities of a biology teacher in elementary, middle, or high schools in which science is taught as a separate subject.

Admission to the Education Certification program requires a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.75, Eligibility for teacher certification by the New Jersey Department of Education is dependent on completion of the curriculum requirements of the certification program, a passing score on the Praxis exam and the minimum CGPA in effect in the State of New Jersey at the time of application for certification.

Students interested in the certification program must consult the College of Education for additional requirements for admission to the program and for certification.
