Funding Opportunities

  • Dr. Evelyn Kivy Rosenberg Scholarship for Academic Achievement in Biology for 2014 

    A partial scholarship(s) for academic excellence will be awarded to junior* Biology major applicants selected as most deserving by the Biology Department Scholarship Committee. The Scholarship(s) are for use in the senior year, and the monies awarded will be forwarded from the Development Office directly to the Business Office of the University. All applications must be received by Monday, April 30, 2014. The decision(s) of the Scholarship Committee will be announced by May 15, 2014.

    In order to apply, a student must have a 3.5 cumulative grade point average in Biology major courses and a 3.0 overall cumulative average. Among the additional criteria used to evaluate the merit of each applicant’s achievements are:

    • Recommendations from at least two professors;
    • Quality of individualized research;
    • Performance as a professorial assistant.

    Interviews with candidates may be requested by the Scholarship Committee. The Scholarship Committee reserves the right not to make an award if no student is deemed deserving, or if funds are insufficient.

    *Junior-year students are defined as having 65–96 credits.


    Funding Opportunities for NJCU Math and Science Majors

    Beginning in 2009, several exciting new programs designed to recruit, retain, and graduate more science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) majors have been implemented at NJCU. Due to the shortage of STEM professionals, career opportunities exist at all academic levels.

    The USDA is funding research/internship opportunities at NJCU, and all students in the sciences are encouraged to apply.
