Two MFA students, Lisa Ficarelli-Halpern and Matthew Lahm, in the Art Department exhibited their work in the 2010 National Wet Paint Exhibition at the Zhou B. Art Center in Chicago. This was a juried competition and Lisa and Matthew were two of only three artists in New Jersey whose work was selected for the show. Four NJCU students -- seniors Kelly Cuenca (Union), Elias Jimenez (Jersey City), juniors Chazz Jogie (Jersey City) and Stephanie Herrera (Union City) -- placed first in the Art Directors Club of New Jersey (ADCNJ) Design Derby, an annual statewide competition that presents contestants with a real-life design challenge. The four winners are all art majors specializing in illustration, and were among 102 students from New Jersey colleges and universities competing.
