Peer Undergraduate Mentoring Program

The Dean’s Office along with the support of  the Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs is sponsoring a peer mentoring program that provides additional support services to students placed in a developmental mathematics course (Math 095 & Math 098). Students have access to a peer mentor, tutoring services, various academic related workshops, and are placed in smaller classes. Historically, many students have struggled passing developmental mathematics courses which leads to academic dismissal. The mission of the program is to provide students with successful academic study skills and enhance their academic resiliency. Finally, implementing an intervention such as a peer mentoring program will increase students’ motivational level and self-efficacy.

Students interested in applying for a Peer Mentor position, must submit a completed application,  resume, and one faculty recommendation form. If you have any questions about the program or application process, please contact Ms. Sarah Ambrose-Roman at 201-200-3001 for further information. Please submit documents to Ms. Cheryl Moore via fax at 201-200-2324, email ( ), or in person at Karnoutsos Hall, room 605.
