  • The journey to a college degree is full of challenges.  NJCU offers support programs for students who are under-prepared for the rigors of higher education.  These programs begin while students are in middle school or high school, helping to ensure their academic success.

    Pre-College Programs

    Pre-College Programs such as Upward Bound, College Bound, and GEAR UP provide early college awareness and preparation in after-school, weekend, and summer program formats.

    Americorps / Youthcorps

    The Americorps / Youthcorps program at NJCU addresses the needs of young adults age 16 through 25 who did not complete high school, providing them with a second chance to earn a diploma while developing employment skills.

    College Express

    College Express is a summer program that builds a bridge for first-time freshman entering New Jersey City University, with intensive training in reading, writing and critical thinking.

    Opportunity Scholarship Program (OSP)

     

     

    OSP provides financial and academic support for students who are capable and motivated, but who are economically and educationally disadvantaged
