Dr. Liu's Faculty Site
Dr. Thomas Liu came to NJCU in 2002. He is a multi-disciplinarian with research interests in Optical Networks, Software Performance, Web Applications and Performance, Web Services and Cloud Computing. Dr. Liu leads NJCU Computer Science students in research projects at Brookhaven National Laboratory and the CCICADA Research Center of the Department of Homeland Security. He served as Principle Investigator for the National Science Foundation (N.S.F.) research grant titled "Performance of Education and Research Laboratory". Dr. Liu has authored and presented numerous papers at national conferences, proceedings and journals.
Before joining NJCU, Dr. Liu was Senior Software Architect and team leader for the Optical Network group of Bell Laboratory. His current interests are in the area of Health Informatics. He is Project Director for the Title V Grant "Increasing Latino Participation in Nursing and Health Information Management". Dr. Liu also serves as advisor to the NJCU Computer Science department student Robotics Team. He is a senior member of IEEE and a professional member of the Association for Computing Machinery (A.C.M.).
