    Abisola Gallagher-Hobson, Ed.D., Director, Counseling & Wellness Services 

    Dr. Gallagher-Hobson earned a Bachelor's degree with honors in Psychology at Northeastern Illinois University, a Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin, and her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. She has a New Jersey license to practice psychotherapy. Her professional interests include empowerment, diversity issues (race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc.), spirituality/religion, sexual abuse/assault, anger management, depression, anxiety, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and emotional freedom tapping. 

    Alissa Koval-Dhaliwal, Ph.D. 
    Dr. Koval-Dhaliwal earned her Bachelor's degree at Oberlin College in Ohio, where she majored in Psychology and in Women's Studies.  She completed her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the State University of New York at Buffalo, and is licensed as a psychologist in the state of New York.  Her professional interests include multicultural issues, oppression and empowerment, eating disorders and body image, adoption-related challenges, self-esteem, recovery from sexual abuse and assault, LGBTQIA concerns, and supporting students with disabilities.
    Alfredo Lowe, Ph.D., ABPP, LCADC 
    Dr. Lowe completed a Bachelor's degree in Psychology at The College of New Jersey, graduating with honors.  He received a Master's degree in Educational Psychology at Montclair State University and his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Adelphi University in Long Island, New York.  He is nationally board-certified and licensed as a psychologist in New Jersey, New York, and North Carolina.  His professional interests include child and adolescent psychology, autism spectrum disorders, substance abuse, attachment issues, anxiety, and depressive disorders.
    Jennifer Mullan, Psy.D. 
    Dr. Mullan completed her B.A. in Psychology at New Jersey City University, with a certification to teach Elementary Education.  She received her Master's degree in Counseling and Community Agencies at New York University, The Steinhardt School of Education, graduating magna cum laude.   She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at The California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. Her professional interests include complex and intergenerational trauma, group psychotherapy, diversity issues, creative art therapy, child and adolescent development, men and masculine ideologies, spiritual ways of knowing, and treatment of childhood sexual abuse.


    Veronica Baker, B.S. 
    Ms. Baker has been with NJCU for 19 years.  Before joining us at the Counseling Center she worked in the Financial Aid office.  She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice online at Kaplan University, and is working on an online Master's degree in Psychology at Northcentral University.  In the future she would like to become a counselor to help others who suffer from depression and low self-esteem.
