This program includes a 30-credit certification sequence and an additional 6 credits to complete the Master of Arts in Teaching in Early Childhood Education. Students who successfully complete this program and pass the Early Childhood Content Knowledge Praxis II Test (0022) will be eligible for the New Jersey Preschool through Grade Three Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing endorsement.
A cumulative G.P.A. of 2.75 on an undergraduate degree and an acceptable essay are required to enter and remain in the program. The state requires a liberal arts major on an undergraduate degree or 60 liberal arts credits on an undergraduate degree. Candidates are required to meet with an advisor prior to the start of this certification sequence.
Undergraduate Prerequisites for the M.A.T. in Early Childhood Education
The following undergraduate prerequisites must be met prior to or concurrently with the first field experience requirement:
BIOL 103 orBIOL 104
Human Sexual Biology orThe Human Body
