Our graduates have gone on to become master teachers, school library media specialists, published researchers and authors, corporate trainers, school leaders, and professional developers. They are technology leaders on a national level. The faculty consists of recognized leaders in the field. All courses are completely project-based (no tests or exams), and projects are designed to be customized to meet students’ needs.

Our internationally-recognized and accredited programs are leading the field in learning with project-based strategies, emerging technologies, and standards alignment. Our curriculum prepares students for a wide variety of careers in corporate, government, K12, higher education & non-profit sectors. We offer the NJ School Library Media Specialist Certification, Assistive Technology Certificate, STEM Certificate, and NJ Supervisor’s Certification.

Degrees and Certificates

    Certificate in STEM

    (12 CREDITS)

    This one-year graduate certificate program addresses STEM education and educational technology in PreK-12 environments. The Certificate is delivered as a fully online, facilitated program with an active learning virtual lab experience. The program is project-based, and provides students with the foundational STEM pedagogy and hands-on experience to be successful integrating STEM into classrooms and schools.

    Certificate in Assistive Technology

    (15 credits)

    This one year certificate program has a cross-disability perspective and is designed for anyone who works with persons who use assistive technology. The program is project-based, and the practicum provides a capstone experience.

    Master of Arts in Educational Technology with a Specialization in School Library Media

    (36 Credits)

    This program leads to the NJ State License as a supervisor of a school library media center and a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Technology (matriculation required). NJ Supervisory Certification can be earned with degree. Speak to your advisor about course options.

    Master of Arts in Educational Technology with a Specialization in STEM

    (36 CREDITS)

    The four-course STEM Certificate sequence is seamlessly integrated into the 36-credit program for the MA in Educational Technology in which students focus the foundational STEM pedagogy and the hands-on experience to be successful integrating STEM in their classrooms and schools. It is for K-12 educators in all disciplines-including the arts and humanities-school leaders, and librarians.

    Master of Arts in Educational Technology

    (36 credits)

    This program focuses on developing expertise in teaching and training with technology for varied contexts—K–12 schools, universities, workplaces, museums, and nonprofits. This degree is intended to develop a broad range of technological expertise while exploring the use of current and emerging technologies for effective and efficient teaching in a dynamic, global society. Areas of particular focus will include online teaching and training, multimedia technology integration, innovative teaching techniques, and educational games and simulations. NJ Supervisory Certification can be earned with degree.     Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Technology Leadership

    The Ed.D. in Educational Technology Leadership refocuses graduate education to respond to market needs, yet maintains the high standards required of doctoral education. We offer a 1:51 Flexible Schedule: Come to NJCU for one week a year; the other 51 weeks of coursework are all online.
