M.A.T. with Elementary Education Certification (36 credits)
Middle School Content Area Endorsement (additional 4 credits)
This concentration within the Master of Arts in Teaching program is designed for individuals who have completed a baccalaureate degree in the arts or sciences. Students who complete the certification part of this program will be eligible for an Elementary (K-5) Certification of Eligibility with Advanced Standing.
Students may also choose to pursue the dual-certification program to earn a Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing in K-5 Elementary with a 5-8 subject endorsement. Middle school subject areas include Language Arts/Literacy, Mathematics, and Science, Social Studies, and Spanish.
Please note that while certification can be earned through completion of thirty appropriate credits, the full master’s degree requires completion of two extra courses (6 credits) in research methods.
