High School Summer Scholars

New Jersey City University will be offering select high achieving students an opportunity to enroll in college-level courses for the summer session II term. Courses will run from July 10th to August 10th at NJCU. This program provides students with a head start for college at a reduced tuition rate and will expose them to a vibrant University environment.

ELIGIBILITY

This program is specifically for rising high school Juniors and Seniors. Students who wish to participate in this program should submit the following:

  • The NJCU High School Summer Scholars application.
  • A personal statement explaining your motivation for attending this program.
  • An official high school transcript reflecting all years of high school study.
  • Letter of recommendation from guidance counselor

Admission to the program will be based on a combination of high school grades, the quality of their written personal statement, and their recommendation letter(s). 

COST

Students who are admitted to the program will be charged a reduced rate of tuition and fees. The cost of a 3-credit summer session ll 2017 course will be $567.66. This includes a 50% discount off of the standard tuition and fees rate.

SUMMER II COURSES

Due to the intensive nature of a five-week summer session program, students are only eligible to enroll in one 3 credit course.

ENROLLMENT PROCESS

When all of the necessary documents have been submitted, the applicant will be contacted by the Admissions Office to complete registration for the selected course. Admission to the program will be based on a combination of high school grades, the quality of their written personal statement, and their recommendation letter(s).
