A brief summary of my professional history is listed below.

As a College Professor at New Jersey City University

I am a tenured Associate Professor at New Jersey City University. I have been employed at the University for seventeen years in the Department of Literacy Education.  I teach courses in to a variety of student populations.  For example, I teach courses to incoming freshman students who need additional support with their Reading, Writing and Research skills to permit them to operate successfully at the college level. Also, I teach literacy courses that all undergraduate students must take if they are majoring in any education discipline.  Lastly, I teach graduate courses in the Graduate programs offered by the Literacy Education Department.

    As  a Teacher/Administrator

I taught in the public schools in New York City.  I also served as a member of the governing board of a community school district.  I was Director of Staff Development and Teacher Training for a school district in New York City where I developed and implemented programs that assisted the district to comply with state and city curriculum requirements.

    As an Educational Consultant

I was employed as an internal consultant for two major book publishing companies. I was responsible for planning and conducting seminars and workshops that showed participants how to go from theory to practice.  These training programs assisted school personnel to successfully implement the company’s educational programs.

My varied and extensive work history is supported by a Doctorate Degree in Reading and Language from Columbia University.
