OSP Summer Assistance Policy

  • The OSP Summer Assistance Policy is as follows:

    1. All students applying for any form of OSP Summer Assistance must be in good academic standing with the Opportunity Scholarship Program. For example:
          • Must have a minimum CGPA of 2.0 or higher
          • Maintain monthly meeting/contact with OSP counselor
          • Completed required OSP Workshops
          • Complete a 2014-2015 FASFA ( Except August Graduates)
          • Must be registered for Fall 2014 ( Except August Graduates)
          • Use an NJCU email address
       
    1. All Students applying for any form of OSP Summer Assistance must complete a 2014 Summer Session Funding Application by the Financial Aid Office and an OSP Summer Application.

    OSP Summer Assistance Application Deadline Thursday, May 1, 2014

    1. OSP seniors graduating in summer 2014 (proof must be provided) will receive$1058.10 towards the summer tuition and fees for one three credit course. A student taking 4 or more credits will be responsible for the remaining balance.
    1. OSP students who wish to take Intermediate Algebra in summer 2014 will receive $658.10 towards summer tuition and fees for this course. This leaves a $400.00 balance, which is the student’s responsibility. Please note: Students must provide proof to us that they have paid before OSP will release its funds.

    This only applies to students registering for the OSP Intermediate Algebra course during Summer Session II (Monday, July 7 – Thursday, August 7). The class meets MTWR from 10:40am to 1:00pm. OSP will only provide summer assistance to those registered to take OSP’s Intermediate Algebra course. Visit your OSP counselor who will register you for the course. Any other Intermediate Algebra course during the summer will be the sole responsibility of the student.

    1. OSP students who wish to pass remedial writing and/or math classes will receive full summer assistance. Please note: OSP is offering its own section of writing & math workshops during Summer Session II (Monday, July 7 – Thursday, August 7). The class meets four days a week. The Time and Location of this course TBA. OSP will only provide summer assistance to those registered to take OSP sections only. Any other writing or math course during the summer will be the sole responsibility of the student.
    1. OSP students interested in registering for any other courses (All University Requirements, General Study Area courses, or Major courses) in summer 2013 will receive $658.10 towards summer tuition and fees for this course. This leaves a $400.00 balance, which is the student’s responsibility. A student enrolling in a 4 credit course will receive $860.80 toward summer tuition and fees. This leaves a $550.00 balance, which is the student’s responsibility. Please note: Students must provide proof to us that they have paid before OSP will release its funds.

     

    OSP Assistance is limited to one (1) 3 credit course. Any additional summer courses are the student’s sole responsibility.

    If any Summer Refunds are granted, summer assistance funds will be returned to OSP.

    OSP Summer Assistance is contingent upon eligibility and the availability of funds.
