The Department of Political Science offers several degree tracks including a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (general), a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science-Secondary Education (Social Studies) Teacher Certification, a minor in Political Science, a minor in Pre-Law and a minor in International Studies. Recent graduates from our program have gone on to continue their education in graduate and law school, while others have found employment in the public and private sectors.
The mission of the Political Science Department is to provide rigorous instruction in the traditional sub-fields of political science, and to lead the broader NJCU community in promoting active civic engagement. To fulfill that mission, the Department's curriculum, instruction, and activities prepare students for successful graduate study and careers in political science, law, education, government service and several other related fields. The Department stresses active learning, cultural diversity, and personal responsibility.
