  • A Message from the Director of Public Safety

On behalf of the Public Safety Department, it is my pleasure to welcome you to New Jersey City University. I want to assure you that my staff and I will continuously work around the clock to maintain a safe environment for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors alike. We believe that safety is a shared responsibility and ask that you join us in making our campus, as well as our community, a safe and pleasant place to learn, live and work.

The Public Safety Department offers comprehensive safety and security services to all valued members of our community. We work vigilantly with our municipal, state and federal law enforcement and fire safety partners to ensure the safety and security of our community. You can help in a couple of ways: first, by being aware of your surroundings and belongings; secondly by reporting unusual or suspicious behavior.

We welcome your comments, suggestions, and ideas for making NJCU an even safer environment. To share your ideas, please visit the Public Safety Office located at Rossey Hall Rm. 114/115; call us at 201-200-3128; or email us at publicsafety@njcu.edu.

    Ron Hurley, DSc., CPP
    Director of Public Safety
