    STUDENT INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT GROUP

Objective: Provide students with the opportunity to engage in the actual world of investment through active participation in the management of a significant investment portfolio.
The SIM group was created as a result of a $100,000 grant by NJ Representative Frank Guarini.

    • Students manage an actual 40 stock portfolio worth over $160,000. Stock selections are made by student stock analysis.
    • The SIM group also organizes guest speakers, financial firms site visits, and investment seminars.
    • In April 2013 the NJCU SIM group won the Growth Portfolio National championship over 200 other universities at the 13th Annual Student Investment Competition sponsored by the University of Dayton.
    • Membership is open to all NJCU students, undergraduate and graduate, who have a beginner level knowledge of business, economics, or financial markets.
