Assist progam participants academically utilizing peer tutoring and academic advisement. Participants are also free to use the computer lab and a textbook loaner library to aid them throughout their collegiate career. We also assist students in applying for admission into graduate and professional programs.
Assist students in securing financial resources available through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the NJCU Endowed Scholarship program, and other legitimate scholarship sources. TLC has an individual financial aid counseling program made available through a joint effort between the Office of Financial Aid and the TLC program. This initiative allows students to meet with a financial counselor and get accurate information from a financial aid professional.
Provide motivation and personal support to program participants through individual counseling and group counseling workshops. We also have access to a number of resources on and off campus if participants need additional assistance.
Provide a variety of cultural and social awareness activities to program participants through workshops and seminars. We work directly with TLC Alumni, university administrators, cultural enrichment programs and special interest groups from the campus community.
Provide educational and/ or counseling services designed to improve participants economic and financial literacy. Utilizing campus services such as the NJCU FLEX team and external presentations by New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority and New Jersey Licensed Budget/ Credit Counseling Agencies.
