Free Workshops in Support of Local Arts and Artists

‘Capacity Building for Arts Organizations’ to Launch Series on March 16

NJCU Center for the Arts and the NJCU Arts Advisory Board are sponsoring a series of three free workshops, beginning in March, as part of a larger effort to support local arts organizations and artists and encourage dialogues to shape the cultural landscape of the arts in Jersey City and the region.

The series will open on Thursday, March 16 with a program on Capacity Building for Arts Organizations. The workshop will be held, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Jersey City  Hall, 280 Grove Street, 2nd Floor, Council Chambers Room. Refreshments will be served.

The workshop, intended for those who wish to grow their arts organization, will provide a roadmap of best practices in marketing, fundraising and board development for small to mid-sized non-profit arts organizations, and for all who are interested in attending.

Workshop moderator will be Sharon Ambis, Chair of the NJCU Arts Advisory Board and Senior Director, Marketing and Strategic Messaging for Jersey City Medical Center - RWJ Barnabas Health.

Panelists will be:
David Rodriguez, Executive Producer at NJPAC
Andy Chiang, Executive Director of Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company
Maureen Goletz, Executive Director of the Jersey City International Television and Film Festival

The series will continue with Raising Dollars and Your Social Media Profile on Friday, April 21, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at &Co 201 Montgomery St, Second Floor in Jersey City. Arts & Culture Breakfast Symposium will take place on Thursday, May 11, 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. at the NJCU School of Business, Skyline Room, Harborside 2, 200 Hudson Street in Jersey City.
