NJCU Hosts ONE WORLD Conference to Focus on Global Empowerment of Women

NEW JERSEY CITY UNIVERSITY LAUNCHES ONE WORLD CONFERENCE

Focus Is on Global Empowerment of Women

Dr. Sue Henderson, President of NJCU, announced today that Katty Kay, the lead anchor for BBC World News America, will headline the roster of distinguished speakers at the two-day inaugural event of One World at the newly launched School of Business, located at the Mack-Cali Harborside Complex in Jersey City. JPMorgan Chase & Co. is the lead sponsor of One World—Empowering Women for the Global Conversation.

Ms. Kay is co-author of two New York Times best-sellers, Womenomics: Making the Case for Women in the Workforce and The Confidence Code. She will be joined by Haiyan Wang, Managing Partner of the China India Institute in Washington and co-author of Getting China and India Right. Together, they will explore the social and economic impact of women around the world in fields such as finance, global business, education, healthcare, corporate leadership and entrepreneurship along with 350 senior members of the region’s business community.

In addition to Ms. Kay and Ms. Wang, featured speakers will include: Michele Brown, president and CEO of Choose New Jersey; Michellene Davis, executive vice president and chief corporate affairs officer of RWJBarnabas Health; Rebecca Freed, partner, Genova Burns; Michele Siekerka, president and CEO, New Jersey Business and Industry Association; and Alfa Demmellash, co-founder, Rising Tide Capital.

Additional featured speakers include: Dr. Indu Shahani, president and chair of ISDI, ISME, and IDI WPP; Dr. Dale Atkins, noted psychologist and author; Lynn Bishop, chief development officer of The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation; and Peggy Klaus, professional and executive development coach and author.
