Sue Henderson, President of New Jersey City University, was recently elected as Secretary of the Governing Board of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU).

The election of officers to the Governing Board took place during HACU’s 31st Annual Conference – “Championing Hispanic Higher Education Success: Driving America’s Prosperity” – which was held October 28-30, at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, in San Diego, California.

The other newly elected officer is Vice Chair Monte E. Pérez, President of Los Angeles Mission College. Henderson and Pérez join Treasurer Beatriz T. Espinoza, President of Coastal Bend College, and past Chair Tomás D. Morales, President of California State University, San Bernardino, as part of the Executive Committee.

NJCU has been a member of HACU since 1989. Established in 1986, HACU represents more than 470 colleges and universities committed to Hispanic higher education success in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Latin America, and Spain. HACU is the only national educational association that represents Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs).
