Dr. Barbara B. Blozen, Associate Professor of Nursing at New Jersey City University, has been appointed President of the New Jersey State Board of Nursing. Comprised of nursing professionals and public members from across the State, the New Jersey State Board of Nursing protects the health and safety of the public through effective public policy, competent and ethical nursing practice, and exceptional customer service.  The Board licenses registered nurses and practical nurses; regulates the nursing profession in New Jersey; certifies advanced practice nurses, sexual assault forensic nurses, and homemaker-home health aides; accredits nursing schools; and approves clinical affiliates.

Dr. Blozen joined NJCU as a full-time member of the faculty in 2013, after having had served the University as an adjunct instructor since 2008.  Dr. Blozen is responsible for clinical and theoretical instruction of RN-BSN students as well as advising students and also supervising and evaluating them in patient assessment. 

Dr. Blozen holds an Ed.D. in higher education from Seton Hall University, an M.A. in nursing from New York University, and a B.S.N. in nursing from Wagner College, where she minored in education.  She holds many certifications from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
