The Gothic Times an Award Winner - Twice

Monica Sarmiento, Editor-in-Chief of The Gothic Times, won an Honorable Mention in the “Iron Reporter Contest” hosted by the College Media Association

The Gothic Times has recently distinguished itself and NJCU with two notable awards. The student newspaper’s staff took second-place in Editorial Writing, from the New Jersey Press Association, in a contest involving university and college publications from around the state.

In addition, Monica Sarmiento, Editor-in-Chief of The Gothic Times, won an Honorable Mention in the “Iron Reporter Contest” hosted by the College Media Association in Manhattan. Sarmiento made her mark in a competition in which student reporters from around the country had less than 48 hours to produce an original article in New York City.
