NJCU Hosts First-ever TEDx Event

NJCU recently hosted its inaugural TEDx event, a local gathering where live TED-like talks and videos previously recorded at TED conferences are shared with the community. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis.

The April 5 student-run TEDx, held in the Gothic Lounge on the Jersey City campus, focused on, “The Past, The Present, The Unknown.” Topics ranged from science-related matters to philosophy. The TEDx events work to present a diverse range of topics without pushing any specific political or religious agenda.

Speakers and topics included:

Jefferey Dessources:Trill EDU: Culturally Responsive Pedagogy’s place in Student Development.

Sandy Checo: Not Your Statistic: Staying "Woke" to Resist Social Norms
