New Jersey City University’s Department of Professional Security Studies (PSS) recently launched a fully online version of its outstanding master’s of science degree in National Security.
“The new online master’s degree creates opportunities for students who do not have access to our facilities and to engage in an exciting field and learn from our expert faculty how to become future leaders in national, corporate, international, and cyber security,” said Dr. Graig R. Klein, Graduate Program Director.
The curriculum seamlessly applies lessons to casework and current security threats to develop students’ expertise for security leadership. Students can specialize in national security, corporate security, or cyber security/information assurance; with dual specializations easily attained. “Whether students prefer online, classroom or a mix of both, NJCU’s MS in national security stands ready to help you get that next promotion or make a successful career transition,” said Dr. Scott Fisher, PSS Department Co-Chair. To earn the master’s degree, students complete 36-credits in subjects like counterintelligence, information security strategy, domestic terrorism, critical incident command, and security policy.
“The master’s degree in national security is the ideal pathway for students planning to assume leadership positions, where they develop the skills and knowledge to address real-world concerns through advanced tactics in prevention, counter measures, and recovery,” said Dr. Michael Krantz, PSS Department Co-Chair. The PSS Department continues to offer its original hybrid MS degree in national security completed through a combination of face-to-face and online courses.
“National Security graduates have challenging, rewarding, and life-changing career opportunities. NJCU’s online program now allows individuals from across the globe and different fields to learn first-hand from experts in the field,” noted Dr. Michael Edmondson, Interim Dean, College of Professional Studies.
