On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, the New Jersey State Appointed Monitor, Henry J. Amoroso, released his report entitled "New Jersey City University's Fiscal & Governance Monitoring Report and Fiscal Accountability Plan." Upon its release, Interim President Andrés Acebo has issued the following statement to the university community:
"We look forward to fully reviewing the State Monitor's fiscal accountability plan and its recommendations along with the expected additional guidance from OSHE pursuant to P.L. 2023, c. 115. I appreciate the Monitor's attention and collaboration as we have continued our work of strengthening NJCU's mission and honorably serving the people we are privileged to serve. I remain confident in our community's resiliency and the brilliant promise of its future. Our work will continue to be emboldened by our students, faculty, staff, community, and local and State leaders who have unwaveringly poured so much into the unrelenting renewal of our indispensable mission, and I remain committed to honoring it in a manner worthy of the trust and hope our students and their families bring onto our campus every day."
