1,302 Named to Fall 2024 Dean’s List

JERSEY CITY, N.J. | New Jersey City University has announced that 1,302 undergraduate students have earned distinction for their academic success by being named to the Fall 2024 semester Dean’s List. Among the honorees, 296 students achieved a perfect 4.00 grade point average (GPA) during the term. | See past Dean's List recipients

For a student to be eligible for Dean’s List accolades, they must earn a semester GPA average of 3.50 or better while enrolled in 12 or more countable credits.

Fall 2024 Dean’s list recipients by class include 427 freshmen, 340 sophomores, 263 juniors and 272 seniors.

The fall term saw a 9.2 percent increase in students with a perfect 4.0 compared to the Spring 2024 semester. Additionally, year-over-year, there was a 27.46 percent increase in freshmen who earned Dean’s List honors compared to Fall 2023.

The Fall 2024 Dean’s list continues the recent history of academic success by a large percentage of NJCU’s undergraduate student population.

By comparison, 1,274 students earned Dean’s List recognition in the Spring 2024 semester with 271 achieving a 4.00 and 1,280 students were tabbed to the Dean’s List in the Fall 2023 semester with 251 scoring a 4.0 GPA.

Students who conclude their undergraduate studies with a 3.65 GPA or better will graduate with honors and be recognized at Commencement as cum laude, magna cum laude or summa cum laude, if their GPA equates to the following:

• 3.65-3.79 cum laude
• 3.80-3.89 magna cum laude
• 3.90-4.00 summa cum laude
