English Concentrations and Minor

There are four concentrations you can choose from to complete a B.A. in English at NJCU: 

• Creative Writing, B.A.
• Literature, B.A.
• Teacher Certification Elementary Education (K-6), B.A.
• Teacher Certification Secondary Education (K-12), B.A.

Or you can complete a minor in English, choosing one of these two concentrations:

• Creative Writing, Minor
• Literature, Minor

Advisement

Academic advisement is crucial to ensure that you are taking the correct courses towards your degree. Contact the University Advisement Center and ask for Ms. Kathleen Banks, the university advisor for English students. Once you have been cleared by an advisor you can register online. If you have questions about the programs or would like to discuss your academic and career choices, feel free to contact the English Department Chair.
