The number of students the EOF program at NJCU can admit is limited and based on the availability of funds; therefore, cohort sizes will vary from semester to semester. To increase the chances of becoming an EOF scholar, applicants are strongly encouraged to complete the required application steps as early as possible. Priority will be given in the following order after accounting for all currently enrolled program students.

Students who are attending college for the first time are considered prospective freshmen. This includes students who earned college credits while in high school.

To be granted an interview for admission to the OSP program as an EOF scholar, applicants must complete the following steps:

  1. Be a first-time college student and apply to NJCU via the Common App.
  2. File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or NJ Alternate Application for Financial Aid (NJ Dreamers are eligible for EOF)
  3. Complete the NJCU OSP/EOF Application.
  4. Meet the NJ EOF Undergraduate Eligibility criteria.
  5. Submit a Verification Form via GothicNet (instructions will be emailed to applicants) and additional documentation as requested.
    * As of Spring 2024, EOF does not require additional documentation for students whose financial eligibility can be determined on the New Jersey Financial Aid Management System (NJFAMS). However, there will be cases when campus programs may require additional documentation to confirm applicants meet the program’s financial eligibility.
  6. Register for an EOF Admission Day.

Please note that indicating your interest in OSP/EOF on the Common App does not determine your eligibility for the program. You must complete all steps outlined above to be granted an interview.

For questions regarding your application to NJCU, contact the Admissions Office at 201-200-3234.

For questions regarding your financial aid package, contact the Financial Aid Office at 201-200-2054.
