Blackstorytelling Lunch and Learn

The Speicher-Rubin Women’s Center for Equity and Diversity is pleased to welcome TAHIRA Productions, Inc., and Dr. Caroliese Frink Reed for a Lunch and Learn featuring Black storytelling. Both are storytellers specializing in the African oral tradition.

This interactive experience will introduce the NJCU community to the art of Black storytelling, which embodies the history, heritage, and culture of African Americans. Black storytellers educate and entertain through the oral tradition, depicting and documenting the African American experience. Participants will have the opportunity to craft and share their own stories. Lunch will be served, and all are welcome to attend.

This first-time event at NJCU is co-sponsored by BAAFSSO, the Student Government Association, the Center for Student Persistence and Success, the Lee Hagan Africana Studies Center, the NJCU Dance Club, the Counseling Center, Housing and Residence Life, the Women in Medical Science (WIMS) Club, and the Sociology Department.
