We warmly invite you to join us for the Dr. Maria Lynn Memorial Gathering Bench Unveiling Ceremony on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 2-3 p.m. on the pathway outside Karnoutsos Hall on campus.
Please join us to share your memory of Dr. Maria Lynn; bring your message, photos, and more! A cherry blossom tree has also been planted adjacent to the bench in her memory.
Dr. Lynn (1960–2023), who preferred to go by "Maria" to all, was the epitome of kindness and compassion for everyone who crossed her path. She offered sweets and an intense interest in the struggles of each person's everyday life, whether a top-level administrator or a struggling first-year student. Maria joined the NJCU community in Fall 2002. She was a beloved professor and administrator who dedicated over 20 years of service to NJCU.
Join us in honoring her memory and preserving her legacy with the establishment of the memorial bench on the main NJCU campus.
In the event inclement weather does not permit the ceremony to be held outside, we will gather in Gilligan Student Union, Room 129
