Media Inquiries
New Jersey City University's media relations staff is housed within the Office of University Communications and Marketing. The media relations team manages the University’s interactions with online, print and broadcast media, which includes photography, and videography. Its primary role is to promote the University’s mission and its scholarly research and achievements and to assist journalists who seek information about the University and members of the campus community.
Media relations team members facilitate media access to NJCU's campus, faculty, staff and students and offer a wide variety of news resources to journalists.
NJCU is a state institution and many of its facilities are open to the public. The University must be advised of members of the media who wish to gain access to commonly requested locations on campus, and all members of the press, photographers and film crews should contact the media relations team to secure media access before proceeding to film or photograph.
To reach a member of the media relations team, call 201-200-3301 or contact Ira Thor, Associate Vice President for University Communications and Marketing, NJCU's Chief Communications Officer and university spokesperson via email ithor@njcu.edu or cell (973-420-8466).
