Gothic Knight Food Pantry
Gothic Knight Food Pantry
Welcome to the Gothic Knight Food Pantry at New Jersey City University (NJCU)!
Hungry?
At NJCU, we hear you and we’re here to help. We’re here to help you graduate and create outstanding campus community. We want you to be fed. We’ve created the Gothic Knight Food Pantry (GKFP) to address food insecurity. Food insecurity has increasingly become an issue on college and university campuses and can pose a significant barrier to student success.
Many students come to campus with limited resources and little experience managing their needs. Hunger makes it difficult to study, sleep, or engage in academics and social activities at the same level as peers. If our students' physiological needs aren't being met, it ultimately decreases the chances of meeting their full potential and their overall experience at New Jersey City University.

Student, Faculty and Staff referral of a student to the Pantry
We are delighted to listen to the needs of our students and campus community. One of the ways we listen to the needs is by being forwarded referrals of students that may benefit from the pantry by students, faculty, and staff. A fellow student, faculty or staff member may see a need for a student who requires additional food items or personal care products. Once we obtain your referral, we will have a member of the Student Affairs team reach out to the student and determine how to help.
To refer a student to our team, and to combat food insecurity, please email the NJCU Community Center at communitycenter@njcu.edu

SNAP
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
You may wish to apply for SNAP as a resource to aid you along your educational journey. SNAP offers nutrition assistance to millions of eligible, low-income individuals and families and provides economic benefits to communities. SNAP is the largest program in the domestic hunger safety net. The Food and Nutrition Service works with State agencies, nutrition educators, and neighborhood and faith-based organizations to ensure those eligible for nutrition assistance can make informed decisions about applying for the program and can access benefits.
