Women's and Gender Studies is an approved co-major for Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education students. Women's and Gender Studies courses help education students understand:

How gender shapes learning.

The experiences of students from diverse backgrounds and different family situations.

How culture and socialization affect gender identities and interactions among children and between teachers and students.

How teachers can challenge gender stereotypes through course content and communication inside and outside the classroom.
