International Graduate Admission Requirements

Before you Apply to NJCU

Review Academic Requirements for All Graduate Applicants: Graduate Admission requirements at NJCU vary by academic program, so it is important that you consult the Office of Graduate Admissions website to view the specific academic requirements, supplemental documents and deadlines for your program of interest before you apply.

Review Additional Requirements for International Applicants: In addition to program-specific admission requirements for all graduate applicants, applicants who have completed their undergraduate degrees outside of the U.S. may be required to submit additional documentation as part of the application process:

  1. Proof of English Proficiency required tests or exemptions.
  2. All foreign transcripts must be evaluated by an agency that is a member of NACES (National Council of Credential Evaluation Services). Students should request a course-by-course evaluation that lists individual subjects and grades. We recommend you start this process early, as it can take several weeks for NJCU to receive your evaluation for review.

Special Note about Online Programs: International students studying in a fully online program cannot get a visa to come to the United States. Student visas will only be issued for programs that offer classes that meet in-person on-campus at NJCU.
