Directions to NJCU
NJCU's main campus is in Jersey City, a bustling urban center just minutes away from New York City. As such, it is easily accessible by car and public transportation.
In addition to main campus, we have expanded our footprint across the state of New Jersey to several locations where students can take classes:
- NJCU School of Business is located in Harborside which is on the waterfront in the financial district of Jersey City, about 10 minutes from main campus.
- NJCU at Fort Monmouth is located in Monmouth County, about one hour south of Jersey City, in Oceanport, N.J.

Main Campus Address

FROM MANHATTAN
- Take the #119 bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal, directly to the University.
- Alternatively, take the PATH subway to Journal Square and follow the directions below.
FROM PATH TERMINAL AT JOURNAL SQUARE
- Take the #10 South Boulevard bus from platform directly to the University's main entrance.
- Alternatively, take the #80 Newark Avenue/Gates Avenue bus to Audubon and West Side avenues. From there, either walk the three short blocks to campus, or take the free shuttle bus from the University's parking lot on West Side Avenue.
FROM THE HUDSON-BERGEN LIGHT RAIL
- Take the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail to West Side Avenue (last stop).
- Walk four blocks south (turn left walking out of the station) on West Side Avenue to Culver Avenue.
- Turn left on Culver Avenue and walk three short blocks to the main campus, or walk one more block to Audubon Avenue to take the free shuttle bus from the University's parking lot on West Side Avenue.
FROM NEW YORK CITY (HOLLAND TUNNEL)
- After exiting the Holland Tunnel, go straight up the hill.
- Maneuver into the center lanes (an exit for the turnpike will be on the right, followed by an exit for Routes 1 & 9 on your left).
- Continue approximately 1 mile and turn left onto Kennedy Boulevard.
- Continue ~2.5 miles on Kennedy Boulevard to the University.
NJ TURNPIKE
- Take Route 280 East, Route 80 East, or Route 3 East to the N.J. Turnpike.
- Exit the Turnpike at 15E.
- Follow signs to Routes 1 & 9 North (Truck Route).
- Cross over two bridges to a traffic light at the intersection of Route 440.
- Stay straight at the light.
- After the McDonald’s (on the right) go to the second traffic light and turn right onto Kennedy Boulevard.
- NJCU is 12 blocks south on the right. Parking is available in the garage on Culver Avenue.
FROM ROUTES 78, 1 & 9
- Take Route 78 East to Routes 1 & 9 North.
- Routes 1 & 9 will split. Stay to the right (1 & 9 North Truck Route). Do not go to the Pulaski Skyway.
- Take 1 & 9 over two bridges and stay straight at the traffic light (intersection of Route 440).
- After the McDonald’s (on the right) go to the second traffic light and turn right onto Kennedy Boulevard.
- NJCU is 12 blocks south on the right. Parking is available in the garage on Culver Avenue.
FROM GARDEN STATE PARKWAY (NORTHBOUND)
- Take the GSP North to Exit 140, Route 22 East.
- Take 22 East to Routes 1 & 9 North.
- Follow directions above from Routes 1 & 9.

The School of Business is located in the Harborside Plaza II building, to the right of the main entrance with it's own marquee entrance.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
By Hudson-Bergen Light Rail
Traveling from the direction of either Bayonne or Hoboken, exit at the Harborside Station stop in Jersey City.
By PATH Train
From 33rd Street
Take the train marked Journal Square. At the Pavonia Newport Station transfer from the same track to the train marked World Trade Center and exit at the next stop which is Exchange Place. The Harborside is adjacent to the station entrance, to the north.
From Hoboken
Take the train marked World Trade Center. Exit at the Exchange Place Station. Harborside is adjacent to the station entrance, to the north.
From WTC
Take the train marked Hoboken or Newark and exit at the Exchange Place Station. Harborside is adjacent to the station entrance, to the north.
By Ferry
New York Waterway operates weekday ferry service between Manhattan and Jersey City. From Midtown/ West 39th St, Pier 11/Wall St, or the World Financial Center, take the Paulus Hook ferry to Jersey City. The ferry stop is three blocks south of the Harborside. Please note: ferry service to Paulus Hook does not operate on weekends or holidays.
By Bus
New Jersey Transit has a comprehensive bus system that includes third party buses that stop at Exchange Place. Please visit the NJ Transit website for additional information and assistance planning a convenient route. Exit buses at the Exchange Place Station. Harborside is adjacent to the station entrance, to the north.

For Navigation Systems
From NJCU Main Campus
Head northeast on John F. Kennedy Blvd toward Culver Avenue for 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Montgomery Street and travel 2 miles. Turn left onto Greene St., right at the first cross street onto Christopher Columbus Dr. then left onto Hudson St. Harborside's main entrance will be on the right.
From the New Jersey Turnpike North or South
Take exit 14-14A-14B-14C for I-78 toward US-1/US-9/US-22/ Newark Airport/Holland Tunnel. Take exit 14A-14B-14C for I-78 E toward Bayonne/Jersey City/Holland Tunnel. Merge ontoI-78 E and drive 6.2 miles. Take the exit toward Jersey City/Columbus Drive. Continue for 1.2 miles on Christopher Columbus Drive. Turn left onto Hudson St. (at light passed Greene Street), crossing over the rail tracks and travel 0.1 miles north. Harborside main entrance is on the right.
From Interstate 280
Take I-280 East via the ramp on the left towards New Jersey Turnpike. Merge onto I-78 E and drive 6.2 miles. Take the exit toward Jersey City/Columbus Drive. Continue for 1.2 miles on Christopher Columbus Drive. Turn left onto Hudson St. (at light passed Greene Street), crossing over the rail tracks and travel 0.1 miles north. Harborside main entrance is on the right.
From The Lincoln Tunnel
Follow Lincoln Tunnel, crossing into New Jersey. Take the exit towards Willow Ave/Weehawken/Hoboken. Merge onto Park Ave/County Rd 675/Willow Ave. Turn right onto 14th Street/County Rd 670. Make a left onto Manhattan Ave/Paterson Plank Road and travel 1 mile south. Turn right onto Harrison, left onto Newark Ave, and right onto Marin Blvd. Travel 1.2 miles south on Marin Blvd then turn left onto Christopher Columbus Dr. and travel four blocks east. Turn left onto Hudson St. (the light passed Greene Street), crossing over the rail tracks and travel 0.1 miles north. Harborside main entrance is on the right.
From the Holland Tunnel
Follow Holland Tunnel, crossing into New Jersey. Immediately upon exiting make first right onto Marin Blvd. Turn right onto 18th Street. Continue onto Washington Blvd. Travel approximately 1.2 mile south. Turn left onto Christopher Columbus Dr. and travel four blocks east. Turn left onto Hudson St. (at light passed Greene Street), crossing over the rail tracks and travel 0.1 miles north. Harborside main entrance is on the right.

Driving Directions to NJCU Fort Monmouth
From New York City and Northern New Jersey:
Take the New Jersey Turnpike South to Exit 11 (Garden State Parkway). Take the Garden State Parkway Local lanes to exit 105-Long Branch/Eatontown. Follow signs for Route 18/Wayside Road. Turn right onto Wayside Road at the end of the ramp. Continue on Wayside Road and turn right at 2nd light onto Tinton Avenue/County Route 537. Tinton Avenue becomes Avenue of Memories just after crossing Route 35. Continue on Avenue of Memories for about one mile, and then turn left on Brewer Avenue and proceed to Sherrill. Parking is to the right of the building.
From Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey:
Take the New Jersey Turnpike North to Exit 7A (I-195 East/Shore Points). Take I-195 approximately 28 miles until it becomes State Highway 138. Take State Highway 138 to the Garden State Parkway Exit 105 (Eatontown). Follow signs for Route 18 North. Stay in right lane and immediately exit Route 18 onto Wayside Road. Continue on Wayside Road and turn right at 3rd light onto Tinton Avenue/County Route 537. Tinton Avenue becomes Avenue of Memories just after crossing Route 35. Continue on Avenue of Memories for about one mile, and then turn left on Brewer Avenue and proceed to Sherrill. Parking is to the right of the building.
From Route 18 North and Southbound:
Take exit 15A for Wayside Road North. Continue on Wayside Road and turn right at 3rd light onto Tinton Avenue/County Route 537. Tinton Avenue becomes Avenue of Memories just after crossing Route 35. By Train:
Fort Monmouth is located approximately 1/2 a mile south of the Little Silver train station. NJTransit’s North Jersey Coast Line offers local service to the Little Silver station from NY Penn Station.

Visitors may access one of the following NJCU paid lots. There is also is limited, metered, on-street parking near campus.

Located
On Culver Ave., two levels of parking are located beneath the Gilligan Student Union Building (GSUB). Enter by turning right from Culver Avenue, approaching from West Side Ave. Approaching from Kennedy Blvd., left turns are prohibited by the Jersey City Police Department. The upper lot (adjacent area behind Fries Hall) is entered through the GSUB Parking Garage.

Parking is free at Fort Monmouth. Visitors may park in the lot on the right side of the building.
