Chemistry Department aims to help students build a solid foundation in chemistry and a study environment conducive for them to succeed in a fast-growing, and challenging chemical sciences career. We offer students a comprehensive educational program in the major and subdisciplines in chemistry, linking theoretical concepts and hands-on activities with real-world chemical research and applied fields. Using state-of-the-art instrumentations, chemistry major students can develop their technical skills and hands-on laboratory experience for preparation in a number of private, federal, state positions. Chemistry majors are provided with opportunities to be engaged in faculty-driven research projects, which provide rigorous training in scientific inquiry, knowledge, and training. Faculty research includes studies in medicinal, organic, inorganic, analytical chemistry, material science, biochemical, and environmental science.
