About the Music, Dance and Theatre Department
The Music, Dance and Theatre department at New Jersey City University brings together internationally recognized musicians, vocalists, composers, actors, and dancers to provide students with a dynamic educational experience. Our world-class faculty includes working professionals who regularly perform in New York City’s most prestigious venues.
We offer degrees for undergraduate and graduate students that provide a solid foundation in theory and performance. Our areas of study include Musical Theatre, Instrumental and Vocal Performance, Jazz Performance, Multi-Style Strings, Composition, and more. Our Music Business specialization is perfect for students seeking a career on the business side of the industry, or for performance majors who want to better understand the music business.
Students must be accepted to NJCU and separately apply to the Music, Dance, and Theatre Department. Applying to MDT requires an audition with faculty for acceptance to any of our programs. MDT offers rolling admissions, please contact us for more information.
