Institutional Assessment

Institutional Assessment

Institutional assessment supports strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation. Each academic and administrative area develops annual goals, linked to the goals of our strategic plan, Transforming Lives. Departments examine actual performance in relation to targets and develop action plans involving resource reallocation, initiative revision, professional development, and other actions. Related areas for institutional assessment include:

  • Institutional Progress Card -The University's Progress Card provides longitudinal data on key performance indicators linked to the strategic plan. Request from the Office @ ie@njcu.edu

  • Course Evaluations- NJCU utilizes IDEA course evaluations to provide faculty with student feedback on instruction.

  • Academic Program Review- Academic departments engage in program review to support continuous improvement.

  • Surveys- The institution engages in periodic internal and external surveys in order to gather information on experiences, attitudes, and perceptions of students, faculty, and staff.
