The Department of Educational Leadership aims to prepare reflective, caring, and highly skilled educational practitioners to lead urban schools in their chosen professions, to expand educational theory and practice in urban settings through research, and to work in partnership with constituents to effect change in educational practice in urban schools.
Our graduates have gone on to become master teachers, school library media specialists, published researchers and authors, corporate trainers, school leaders, and professional developers.
The NJCU New Pathways Alternate Route program is a unique, completely online program for people with a bachelor's degree to become a certified teacher in New Jersey.
The Department of Teaching, Learning, and Literacy prepares reflective, skilled, and equity-based educators at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. We also prepare literacy specialists for careers in teaching, coaching, training, coordinating instructional programs, diagnosing and treating literacy problems, and developing curriculum.
