Degrees You Can Put to Work

With 47 undergraduate and 30 graduate programs offered at one of the lowest tuition rates in the state, there’s a lot to choose from at NJCU. Many of our programs can be completed online and offer scheduling to meet the needs of working professionals. Here are a handful of programs that match up especially well with the business, healthcare and educational sectors.  

Business Analytics and Data Science (M.S., B.S.)

Our M.S. degree program was launched two years ago, and already our graduates are working at places like IBM, Verisk analytics, Bloomberg and Deloitte.

Our B.S. program just launched—and we can't wait to see how far those students go after they graduate.

Educational Leadership (Ed.D., M.A., Supervisor Certification)

College Leaders on Campus

Our Educational Leadership programs are in Urban Education for the master’s degree and Community College Leadership for the doctorate.

Courses for the M.A. are offered in online and blended formats. The Ed.D. in Community College Leadership is a 3-year online program with a weeklong summer institute each year.

Exercise Science (B.S.)

With small classes, hands-on internships, and specialized certifications, students gain the skills needed to succeed working with athletes and clinical populations. The B.S. in Exercise Science is also great preparation for advanced professional training in the areas of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Athletic Training.

Financial Technology (M.S.)

Our School of Business recently launched a new Master of Science in Financial Technology program, the first of its kind in New Jersey, and one of only a handful in the U.S. Students will learn cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain and distributed ledgers, popular AI machine-learning techniques such as Deep Learning, as well as the financial knowledge required to work in this rapidly growing sector of the finance industry. 

Fire Science (B.S.)

There’s only one place in New Jersey where you can earn a bachelor’s degree in this field, and that’s NJCU. The B.S. in Fire Science program can be completed online, on our main campus in Jersey City or on the Brookdale Community College Wall Campus.

Graphic Design (M.A., M.F.A., B.A., B.F.A.)

NJCU has four distinct pathways for graphic design students. Our bachelor and master of arts degrees focus on mass media, graphic design and imaging technology, while our fine arts degrees emphasize aspects of human-centered design, design history, the relationship between design and commerce, and studio art practices. All the programs prepare top-notch creative professionals.

Health Sciences (M.S., B.S.)

Healthcare and Medical Program Options

Our M.S. and B.S. degrees in Public Health Education, School Health Education and Health Administration are among the most critical areas in the health sciences today. NJCU's multicultural urban setting puts students in the best position to be at the vanguard of eliminating health disparities and creating equitable access to health care.

Supply Chain, Logistics, and Maritime Port Management

NJCU has the only supply chain degree in the state with a focus on port management. With our School of Business location in the heart of the financial district, close to the major N.Y. and N.J. ports, our B.S. degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, and Maritime Port Management is uniquely positioned to educate the talent force to be at the forefront of the specialized $6 billion-dollar supply chain industry. It is available as an online program for working professionals, too.
