Jonah Buonsanto
Tour
As a Visual Development Artist, Jonah Buonsanto’s objective has always been to experiment with different worlds and concepts. With both traditional and digital mediums, he explores the dramatization of landscapes and entities inspired by science fiction and fantasy. Using various lighting conditions while experimenting with mechanical and organic forms, Jonah uses contrast and value to highlight the theatrical elements of fictional worlds. Professionals like Syd Mead, Darius Puia, and Harvard S. Johansen are strong influences for him by their technical abilities to world-build and craft intricate designs for vehicles, scenery, and characters.
Inspiration for world-building is found everywhere, in films, animations, and especially in video games, from the CyberPunk cities of Blade Runner and Cowboy Bebop to the vast landscapes of video games like The Last of Us and God of War. On the surface these stories are all fantastical tales of adventure and mystery, however, they all have one thing in common, world exploring. The exploration of limitless types of environments and entities in these media has inspired Jonah's latest series “Tour”. This series will include said inspired scenes that have been achieved with the programs procreate and photoshop.
As a Visual Development Artist, Jonah can execute concept pieces of environments and characters using industry-standard mediums. As an artist, his priority is to expand his Visual Development portfolio to be the treatments for potential films and video games.
