Kassandra Brown

Kassandra wants to explore different concepts and avenues of art as a Visual Development Artist. Travelers of the Sun is a series of concept art and illustrations depicting a group of adventurers from all shapes and walks of life coming together to defeat the undead army that threatens to take over the world. The work is an epic high-fantasy set in medieval earth where magic, strange creatures, and adventure awaits. This is based on a Dungeons and Dragons game Kassandra played with her friends, wanting to bring the story to life for everyone to see. 

 

Her creative works consists of digital illustrations, concept art, and character design. Kassandra always loved watching cartoons as a child and that hasn’t changed. Hayao Miyazaki’s Studio Ghibli films, Disney, fantasy films like the Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit, and Japanese animations have been a large part of shaping her style and direction of story-telling. The joy that brought Kassandra as a child as she watched the cast laugh, cry, work together, and succeed in their journeys have motivated her to want to the same. Through her art, she wants to give that joy and imagination to the viewers and continue to perpetuate that magic in an otherwise dull life. To have a chance to experience and connect with others through similar passions is what art does.

This exhibition will show a smart part of her world and further her goals for an eventual career in movie and television shows.
