My name is Kayla M. Brown studying at New Jersey City University with a BFA concentration in
Photography. I have expertise in various programs such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro
and After Effects. I also have an associates degree in Computer Arts with a concentration in
Graphic Designing. My BFA project is an advocacy for mental health awareness and childhood
trauma. It all stirs from my trials, tribulations, highs, lows, glories and upsets to a photo and
video statement. I will create story lines by combining my life unsung songs and newfound
passion, photography. (Along with video segments). The title of my BFA project is
“Pintalations”. It is a combination of “Half Pint” (my childhood nickname) and “Revelations”
from the bible. I was inspired by a quote I seen online that is famously known as “Thou shalt
not throweth shade if thou can not throweth hands” Niggalations 17:38. I have lyrics that has
transpired to captions for photos between the years 2016 and 2021. Each lyric is customized
with the time and date that I wrote them. I have recorded each video vertically, as times has
changed with social media and phones with the way we record videos now. Although it is
vertically recorded, I still used my Nikon D3400 and Canon T3i dslr.
